Guo Kui ‘锅魁’ 😋- Crispy Stuffed Flatbread is truly Scrumptious! Crunchy on the outside with a delicious filling on the inside. Hubby approved too🥰! If you have tried ‘ham chim peang’, it has a very similar taste but more savory.😋
Guo Kui (pronounce as ‘gwoh kwey’) also written as 锅魁 or 锅盔 is a crispy stuffed flatbread with the latter directly translates to “Pot Helmet”. This ‘bread’ is made from simple ingredients and some oil in the flour to create that crispy texture during cooking. There are normally 2 parts to cooking this dish; first, sizzle it in a little oil until golden brown on a griddle, then transfer to an oven and bake until crispy.

– If you can’t stretch the dough, let it rest longer, covered
– Be sure to oil the surface when you roll into an oblong shape
– Once you roll it up and tilt the dough, let it rest before you flatten it.
– Use low heat to cook the outer layer until golden brown, then bake it to crisp them up
I hope you enjoy these treats and have a wonderful Tuesday, friends. Best, WoonHeng💜
